What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

In order to make my front cover, contents page and double page spread I used the program 'Photoshop'. I had used 'Photoshop' in the past so it wasn't new to me, but I have learnt a lot since I started this project. I have learnt how to put blending modes on the text to make it look more of a professional standard, also I learnt how to change the distance between each of the words and paragraph, which helped as I could make the text more compact so I could fit more on and also it looked more appealing. Another technique I learnt was how to set text to a certain shape or wrap it around a picture for example, this enabled me to have pictures and text without the pictures confusing the text and making it hard to read.

There are many advantages of using 'Photoshop', the main advantage being that you can edit your media products to a professional standard because of the various tool available. Another big advantage that I found useful was that I could have my design as a JPG. and a Photoshop document so I could keep editing it but also see my progression. Also there are different layers on Photoshop so I was able to edit each layer individually, without changing the other layers.

To show my work I published my work on 'Blogger' and 'Flickr' I enjoyed working on these programs because I think it is a more interesting way of publishing work as it is via the Internet and other people can access it. But a disadvantage of this would be if the Internet was not working I would not be able to access my work, also if something went wrong with the website and they had to close it then I would lose my work and I would have to do it again. To prevent this from happening I make sure I back my work up on a memory stick.
